I took the 634CF up into the alpine with my 82 mm spotter to judge deer before a stalk. What stands out about the tripod is the extreme versatility. You can literally use an angled spotter fully standing all the way to laying. After climbing to 13K it was much appreciated to be able to glass deer, elk, and moose laying on my side. It’s easily and quickly adjustable to be sturdy on whatever uneven terrain your on.
I just tested it out for the first time in the backcountry of Northern California during the archery deer season. The tripod was light, quiet, and easy to operate. I did not use it fully extended from a standing position, but it performed flawlessly on very uneven ground from a kneeling or seated position. It also remained very steady through some strong winds. I paired it with the VA-5 head and the combination has by far been the best tripod system I’ve ever owned. The tripod and 80mm scope fit entirely in one of the side pockets of my Exo pack with a little room to spare. Would highly recommend.
Great tripod, not the smallest or most compact out there but an excellent combination of packability, stability, and affordability. Running the VA-5 head, system supports my 85mm spotter very nicely. Thanks Rob for pointing me in this direction!
Quick easy light weight. What more is there?
I ordered a Slik tripod and Benro head to use for glassing with my 12x50 Swarovski binoculars. These guys answereed all the questions I had, helped me with my product decision, and shipped my products for free the very same day I ordered them. They arrived in record time and where exactly as described. I will definitely be buying from S and S Archery again in the future!
