The Guardian Chest Plate was born out of a real-world problem: finding a better way to carry a pistol comfortably and securely in the field. Deadfall Design's founder, Dioni Amuchastegui, developed this plate after realizing that most existing systems were clunky and awkward, often adding more straps to an already crowded setup with binocular harnesses, backpacks, and waders.

The Guardian is a clean, simple, and convenient solution that attaches directly to the 1-inch webbing straps of your existing binocular harness. It eliminates the need for an extra harness or straps running around your torso, creating a streamlined and comfortable setup. And allows you to mount your pistol holster to the plate. The plate, straps and buckles come in under 3oz.

We recommend Ivory Holsters Wapiti

Designed with comfort in mind, the plate is not only secure but also breathable, helping to reduce sweating and improve airflow compared to a traditional harness alone. You'll feel the additional weight, but its design ensures it won't impede your breathing or movement.

The system is highly versatile and allows you to mount your pistol in numerous directions on either side of your chest. With universal spacing, it also gives you the option to attach other accessories, like a knife, directly to the plate. The result is a simple, effective system that gives you a smooth, easy draw when you need it most.

✔ Works with most bino harnesses

✔ Universal mounting holes for pistol shells

✔ Includes straps for quick attachment

✔ Lightweight and durable design

Carry your pistol smarter. Upgrade your system with the Guardian.

Great solution with minimal weight

Overall very happy with the plate, but was surprised to see it was printed polymer. Still seems to be very rigid despite this, I suppose I assumed it was aluminum. It was very easy to mount to my bino harness and includes a QR code to the how-to video which was helpful.
I had the same concerns as other people did as far as getting a compatible holster, since Ivory did not make a holster for either firearm I wanted to carry with me in their Wapiti line. I instead used a Bladetech Classic OWB holster with their tek mount 360 plate, and just took off the 360 plate. The hole pattern in the holster allowed me to mount the firearm either horizontal or canted about 30deg, similar to the angle of the product picture. You wouldn't need the tek mount receiver or plate in this case since you can just use the hardware that comes with the Guardian chest plate (3 screws and threaded inserts).
Wore it for one hunt so far and found it pretty much as comfortable as wearing my bino harness before. Good addition to my chest rig.

Great solution for pistol carry

I have a Glock G40 that I carry while hunting and have traditionally run this below my Marsupial Gear and AGC bino harness. I was going to run my pistol in my stand alone chest holster under my bino harness this year, but saw the gaurdian plate and picked it up hoping it would be more comfortable, and it definitely is. My pistol is BIG, it has a 9 inch slide and a Streamlight TLR 1000. Mounting the holster to the slide took a little time just to get it to where the pistol grip was out of the way of my rangefinder pocket on my bino harness. Got it mounted, it clears my pouch with no problem, much more comfortable than running this below my harness. The only small issue I have had is that on my Marsupial Gear no magnet harness the provided c clip on the bottom draw side of my harness, the 1 inch webbing loop on the harness will pinch and the provided c-clip will come loose. This may be an issue I need to work out with the harness adjusting the angle of the narness or I may just replace the provided c-clip with one of the 1 inch spring loaded gate keepers(not sure if that is the actual name) things so even if it pinches it cannot come loose. Since I run a large pistol the gun will sag and get closer to my range finder pocket lid, that's how I know it has come loose. Even when it does come loose it doesn't affect the performance of the holster. Great product, I recommend giving it a try.

Great pistol mount

I am running a Marsupial gear bino harness and had a Glock G40 with TLR1 light and Leupold DPP attached underneath my harness. This is a big pistol and I had some concerns about how this would fit and if it would interfere with accessing my range finder pouch, since Im right handed both are on my right side. I used a Razco holster I had from my previous mounting system and it worked great. Harness doesn't stick out much farther from my chest, but I was surprised how much more comfortable it was not having it hanging down below my harness. I never really realized how much it got in the way before until I mounted it this way. I do have to pull my range finder out at a little different angle because the pistol grip sits pretty close to the top of my range finder pouch lid. But its not hard once you get used to it. Overall, this is a great mounting system, I have no complaints.

Great accessory that needs a little more description

This is a great idea that is well executed. I’m giving it 4 stars because more description is needed on exactly what type of holster is required to attach to the plate. It’s one thing to say that a particular holster is recommended, when it’s more accurate to say that only this holster, or another with a similar attachment method will fit. I have both Ivory and Blackpoint holsters, but neither work. The only holsters that will fit this plate will have attachment points cast into the back of the holster kind of in the area where the pistol sits in the holster. I contacted Dioni and he got back to me immediately with a couple of suggestions, although that means I need to buy a third holster for this gun. Still worth it for the needed use.

Decent Solution

Purchased to field carry a Canik TP9 elite SC. As I was using the holster provided with the firearm, I had to use a few zip ties to secure the holster to the plate and was able to get only one fastener through the plate and holster. The provided straps made for a secure and adjustable fit for my Vortex bino harness. I suggest purchasing a holster designed for this sort of plate, but I was in a time crunch and the zip ties made it work fine. I recommend this product to anyone that wants to try field carrying on their bino harness. It did not interfere with using my binos or range finder and the fire arm is easy to pull from the holster.
