I had the NL 10x42's and I LOVED them. I'm too old and worn out to really hunt anymore. Now I prefer finding critters and watching them. I watched a pack of wolves take down a bison. While they were eating it a pair of grizzlies came in as well. This late in the day, but the best part was as it was at dusk. My NL 10x42's started fading out. I could still see much better with my ATX with the 115mm lens. That's when I decided to switch to the NL 14x52's because the objective lens is 23.81% larger. I use the headrest on all of my NL's, but with it, it's hard to find a harness that fits. They are a little bigger and heavier. If I were still hunting, I probably would have preferred staicking with the NL Pure 10x42's...
I also had a pair of EL 12x50's. Razor sharp, heavy and narrow field of view. Because the amazingly wide field of view of the NL Pure's, I rarely used them. So I decided to sell them and order the NL Pure 14x52's and holy cow!!! I don't understand how Swarovski finds ways to improve on perfection, but they are nothing short of magic! I've read that they are really like 14.7 power. But what matters most is the field of view appears much wider than the EL 12x50's. I put a stud on them to mount them on a tripod, but with the headrest and the shape of the NL's, I can do great for quick viewing even without a tripod. I have a couple of pairs of Zeiss and Leica. Now I also have the Swarovski NL 10x42's and the NL Pure 14x52's. If I could only take one pair, in most situations, I would take the Swarovski NL Pure 14x52mm binoculars. They are absolutely stunning!
