We are excited to offer a great spotter at an amazing price! The Athlon Ares really surprised us with its performance and compact size. We compared it to other mid range spotters, and it fit right in. What didn't fit was the low price! The Ares G2 performed similar to spotters that cost twice as much. We realize not everyone can afford alpha glass, but with the comfort and performance of the Ares, you won't be sacrificing much.
The Ares G2 15-45x 65mm spotting scopes were designed with advanced optical quality and ease of use in mind. Designed with bright, razor-sharp imagery and a rugged, weatherproof design, the Ares is ready for any condition. They have Extra-Low Dispersion glass lenses for color resolution and contrast, our AFMC (advance fully multi-coatings), and feature BaK4 prisms with the new ESP Dielectric Coating. They bring clarity and brightness within the reach of most enthusiasts. The tough full metal chassis is fog proof and waterproof and filled with Argon gas to prevent internal fogging and better thermal stability. The lenses are then treated externally with our XPL coating to withstand dirt, oil, and grime of constant use.

All the previous comments have said it well, and I’m just here to confirm it. This spotter is ridiculous in terms of bang for the buck. I have spent hours behind this scope with very light eye strain, and optical quality that will surpass the average hunters needs. Unless you’re really needing that first/last 10 minutes of light, and the ability to judge to the inch, this scope can do it. This week I watched a 3 separate herds of elk from 1100-2300y away, with zero issue of identifying age class, points, and quantity. The spotter itself is rugged, and was unfortunately tested when I was packing out of a spot and it slid off the tripod head that was attached to my pack. Scope landed and tumbled in some skre aggregate and with a few wipes with my shirt, looks new again. It packs well considering its size, and there’s a fairly small weight penalty for adding it to your pack list. Quality across the board, performance that exceeds most general needs, and a price point that’s hard to beat. Grab one, you won’t regret it.
Excellent spotter. You’re probably like me and have looked up multiple reviews at this point about the spotter when trying to decide whether or not to make the purchase. Everything you’ve read is true- there is no better spotter for the money.
It’s strong, durable, compact, and has excellent clarity compared to spotters at 1.5x the cost.
S&S is always excellent to work with and highly centered on being customer focused.
Fantastic overall spotter for the money, can not be beat in this price range (or even under $1000). Not the lightest overall but everything else makes up for that, competes with spotters far more expensive. S&S was an absolute pleasure to deal with also, I will be back for sure.
Fantastic glass. Better than anything else I’ve looked through for twice the money. It’s not a Swaro but it’s great.
Small, lightweight, perfect for shaving some pounds in the pack!
I ordered this scope based on multiple reviews and other research. I haven’t had a chance to really test it out, but so far it seems good and I’m not disappointed. My main comment is about S &S. Their price was good and it arrived at my house even sooner than expected. I am very pleased at this point and will definitely continue to buy from them.
