At S&S Archery, we’ve always been fans of Fenix for their ruggedness, but the HM55R Renegade is something special. It hits the absolute "sweet spot" for the backcountry hunter.

It is significantly brighter than the ultralight HM50R, yet much smaller and more packable than the powerhouse HM65R-T. Weighing in at only 3.7 ounces, it delivers a massive 1200 lumens, giving you the power of a full-sized searchlight in a frame that won't give you a headache during a long pack-out.

Why we use it

• Triple-Output System: Unlike basic headlamps, the Renegade features a dedicated Spotlight for picking out trail markers at 500+ feet, a high-CRI Floodlight for camp chores without the harsh glare, and a Red Light mode to preserve your night vision while checking your map or stalking in.

• Built for the Elements: With an IP68 waterproof rating, this lamp can be fully submerged and keep shining. The USB-C charging port is internally waterproofed, meaning even if you forget the rubber cover, the light is protected.

• Glove-Friendly Operation: The large side switch is easy to find and operate even with heavy late-season gloves on.

• Intelligent Thermal Control: A built-in downshift function prevents the light from overheating, ensuring the longevity of the LEDs and your safety.

Lighting Modes

The Renegade features 10 total modes to cover every possible scenario:

• Spotlight: 4 levels for long-range navigation.

• Floodlight: 3 levels of neutral, wide-angle light for tasks.

• Red Light: 3 levels (including flash) for stealth and night-vision preservation.
