Athlon Ares G2 UHD 15-45x 65mm Spotting Scope

So far I can not believe how crisp and clear this scope is. It has perfect edge to edge clarity from dawn to dusk. I have looked through top end glass and really can not see the difference. For the price point I don’t think there is a better option out there. S&S archery is hands down an amazing retailer with the best costumer service you can ask for. Highly recommend the athlon ares and S&S.

From my front porch I can see some grassy foothills about 1.5 to 2 1/4 miles away. I glass them with my 15x56 swarovski slc binos on a tripod often. I just got the athlon ares 15-45× spotting scope and tested it on the same hills. It was about 1 hr before sunset with the sun at my back. I picked a fence on the skyline to see how much detail I could pick out with the spotter vs the binos. It was an old barbed wire fence with wood posts. I put the spotter on 15x and I could see strands of wire that I could not see with my swarovski 15x binos. I was very surprised. I cranked it up to 45x and it stayed really clear. So far I am very impressed.

All the previous comments have said it well, and I’m just here to confirm it. This spotter is ridiculous in terms of bang for the buck. I have spent hours behind this scope with very light eye strain, and optical quality that will surpass the average hunters needs. Unless you’re really needing that first/last 10 minutes of light, and the ability to judge to the inch, this scope can do it. This week I watched a 3 separate herds of elk from 1100-2300y away, with zero issue of identifying age class, points, and quantity. The spotter itself is rugged, and was unfortunately tested when I was packing out of a spot and it slid off the tripod head that was attached to my pack. Scope landed and tumbled in some skre aggregate and with a few wipes with my shirt, looks new again. It packs well considering its size, and there’s a fairly small weight penalty for adding it to your pack list. Quality across the board, performance that exceeds most general needs, and a price point that’s hard to beat. Grab one, you won’t regret it.

Excellent spotter. You’re probably like me and have looked up multiple reviews at this point about the spotter when trying to decide whether or not to make the purchase. Everything you’ve read is true- there is no better spotter for the money.

It’s strong, durable, compact, and has excellent clarity compared to spotters at 1.5x the cost.

S&S is always excellent to work with and highly centered on being customer focused.

Fantastic overall spotter for the money, can not be beat in this price range (or even under $1000). Not the lightest overall but everything else makes up for that, competes with spotters far more expensive. S&S was an absolute pleasure to deal with also, I will be back for sure.
