A very simple solution for mounting your binoculars to a tripod. Features a 1/4"-20 stud that threads into your binos and a 1/4"-20 threaded base for mounting to your tripod head.
Weight: 2.8oz
1/4"-20 Stud and Threaded Base
For $20, it’s hard to knock this binocular mount, but it’s easy to complain about. Mounting on a smaller set of binoculars is a bit of a faff, especially if you’ve got bigger fingers.
Unless the finger-turn screw was replaced with an allen head and you carried a wrench (that we’d inevitably lose), this is probably the best option. The mount itself is solid once it’s snigger down, and the “better” options seem to be a lot more expensive.
For the cost-conscious, this is a decent solution.
It can be hard with bigger hands to tighten but possible. FYI to all Vortex binocular users, I was on the phone with there Tech support and apparently
When you unscrew the plastic cap off the Bino to Install this unit the threads from the plastic are broke off inside the metal threaded area in the bino. I used a small
Needle file to simply unscrew out the broken off piece and now the extra thread allowance allows it to tighten fully. Hope this helps the guy cussing Vortex now! :)
