Solid Broadhead Company Leather Strop

Solid Broadhead Company Leather Strop

The Leather Strop is used to put that razor sharp edge back on the broadhead after repeated use shooting into a target or after shooting an animal. The technique to do this is very easy and can be done in a couple different ways. The easiest way is to leave the broadhead assembled and run the edge of the main blade along the side of the leather strop. You can achieve excellent results this way and touch up your broadhead in seconds.

If you do serious damage to the edge the best way to get back to the factory edge is to pull out the #6 torx screw and pull the head apart. If you take the penetrator blade out of the main blade you can then get the proper angle on the leather (20 degrees) to run it length wise along the leather.

The Leather strop also has two different sides, one with a coarse leather and one with a smooth. It is recommended to use the coarse side first followed up by the smooth side to get the final razor sharp edge on.

Elk Hunt

I was shooting 480 grain arrow which included the 100 grain solid broadhead with bleeders. 44 yrds. complete pass thru and the elk went about 60 yrds. The largest elk I have ever shot 7X6 and wide and heavy. I will be sticking with the Solid Broadhead for sure. Thanks, Steve

Haven't tried yet

The solid heads I purchased this for never became less than razor sharp. So I never had to use this product

Good buy

It does a good job sharpening broadheads and pocket knifes as well. I would have liked to see the leather go all the way to the edge. I shoot a cut on contact style broadhead with a bleeder blade with a small cutting width and if I'm not careful I catch the bleeder on the wooden edge but if you take your time and pay attention this isn't a problem. It's defiantly worth the price to keep your blades razor sharp.
