At first I was sold on the Swarovski 65mm spotter, until I came across the Kowa 773/77. I did some research on the internet and couldn’t find much on the kowa. But what I was able to find, on my online research was nothing but amazing reviews and how the kowa 773/77 was comparable and or better than the Swarovski 65mm spotter. So I was curious and bought it! Alls I can say is, I am highly impressed with the kowa.. I feel that you’re getting more bang for your buck than a Swarovski 65mm and that the quality or the glass at further distances is even better. Very vivid browns pop at low light and crystal clear glass. Chromatic abrasion is close to zero at any diestance. However, If I had to change one thing on this spotter, is that the eye relief would be a little more forgiving. You have to get right up on it! I give it 9.5/10. Kowa nailed this optic for the lighter backpack hunter. I wish the hunting community would promote kowa more because these are just magnificent optics.
I'm a hunter and spend countless hours behind my optics each season. It pays to purchase top quality glass, and this spotter does not disappoint! Upon receiving this scope I compared it side by side to a Vortex Razor, and the quality of glass doesn't even compare. The Kowa is hands down way better!
First, I am a birder, not a hunter, but this is what I found. I compared the Kowa to the Swarovski ats 65 hd with the 25-50 wide zoom. My wife and I both wear eyeglasses, and we agreed that it was easier to use the Kowa eyepiece. Less blackouts and kidney bean effects than on the Swarovski. Both are fine scopes, but the Kowa works best for us. Thanks to Rob for his expertise and fantastic customer service.
