I purchased this cover thinking the more expensive of available choices would be the more functional. Well, it keeps dings away from the otherwise unprotected body of a scope. However, its opening for the scope’s tripod foot is small, covers the rotation lock screw, and won’t permit axial rotation further than a few degrees in either direction. It’s eyepiece cap relies on problematic snap attachments to stay on. When removed from the eyepiece, this separate cap dangles from a pair of straps that move around in the slightest breeze, adding unneeded vibration. Likewise, the cover for the focus knobs is a separate piece that must be removed completely. But there is no retention strap or string, an and therefore likely to be lost more or less instantly. The other stay on cover might be better for field use; cheaper too.
